?Isn't Microsoft 365 already backed up?
Microsoft keeps the service running and offers limited retention for deleted items, but it does not protect you from accidental or malicious deletion after that window, ransomware that syncs through OneDrive, or a departed user's data being purged. A separate backup does.
?How often should we back up?
Servers and critical databases typically back up several times a day; workstations and cloud data at least daily. We set frequency by how much work you could afford to redo, which the assessment helps you decide.
?How long would it take to recover?
It depends on the design. A single file takes minutes. A full server from a local image can be running as a virtual machine within hours; from cloud-only backups it takes longer. We state expected times for each system in the recovery plan.
